goldtech:Cree claims white LED record2011-05-11 08:13 GoldTech Components Co.,Ltd.
Cree has reported measuring 231 lm/W efficacy in the lab from a single die 4,500K white LED with 350mA at room temperature. "It wasn't long ago when 200 lm/W was considered the theoretical maximum efficiency for an LED. We broke that barrier in 2010, and have now achieved 231 lm/W," said Cree co-founder John Edmond. The device is said to "features advanced aspects of the same technology used in XLamp white LEDs", and the firm clarified: "this level of performance is not yet available in Cree's production LEDs".
