Arrow offers BeagleBoard2011-05-04 20:34 GoldTech Components Co.,Ltd.
Arrow Electronics introduced a hardware and software design platform based on the BeagleBoard-xM. It is built around a Texas Instruments ARM Cortex-A8 processor running the Windows Embedded real-time operating system. Target applications for the evaluation bundle include robotics, web terminals and three dimensional user interfaces. Building on the success of the BeagleBoard-xM community of online groups, forums and blogs, Arrow’s evaluation platform combines BeagleBoard-xM hardware, a choice of Windows Embedded Compact 7 or Windows Embedded CE 6.0 operating systems, and access to other components for development of industrial and multimedia embedded designs. Within the bundle, Arrow is also providing a SanDisk 1Gbyte microSD card, an HDMI-to-DVI-I cable and an Emerson wall adapter power module.
The hardware is based on a Texas Instruments DM3730 ARM Cortex-A8 processor running at 1GHz and featuring 512Mbyte of on-board LPDDR RAM. The board can be powered via USB or the external supply and is ready to connect to an external LCD. Interfaces include 10/100 Ethernet, USB 2.0 HS OTG, I2C, I2S, SPI and RS-232. It comes with a Windows Embedded Compact 7 binary image running on the board, and a 180-day evaluation version of Microsoft Platform Builder.
Arrow can also supply the Windows Embedded CE 6.0 operating system. Also, Arrow is able to supply a full source code BSP for Windows CE 6.0 or Compact 7 along with the full Microsoft Platform Builder toolkit for those customers who are ready to start development and customization of their OS image.
The BeagleBoard-xM Evaluation Bundle is available now in EMEA at a price of €195.00. |
