NXP gives data converters 4.5Gbit/s interfaces2011-05-01 10:03 GoldTech Components Co.,Ltd.
NXP Semiconductors has added to its range of speed data converters a new high speed serial interface technology.
Called CGVxpress, it will be used in future ADC and DAC products. Next month at the IEEE International Microwave Symposium (MTT-S) held June 7-9, 2011 in Baltimore, NXP will demonstrate the technology in a 4.5Gbit/s transmitter interworking with an FPGA over a 20 cm differential data lane. According to Maury Wood, product line general manager, high speed converters, NXP Semiconductors, the serial interface technology goes beyond traditional parallel interfaces. “The technology and performance enhancements enabled by CGVxpress will drive this serial interface into ubiquitous adoption by data acquisition system engineers worldwide,” said Wood. The CGVxpress (Convertisseur Grande Vitesse or High Speed Converter) interface technology is intended for designs of wireless infrastructure, industrial, scientific, medical (ISM), and aerospace applications, In these applications there is a need for bandwidth, sample accurate lane synchronization and deterministic latency, said the supplier. The CGVxpress feature set also includes support for Multi-Device Synchronization (MDS). MDS solves tough system synchronization and latency challenges in many digital communications system applications, including LTE and LTE-Advanced MIMO radio basestations. First generation CGV interface technology is used in several ADC and DAC product lines including the ADC1413D and DA1408D product families. |
