Microchip Offers Developer Kit For Powerline Soft Modems

Microchip Technology Inc. is offering a new development kit to turn its dsPIC33F Digital Signal Controller into a soft modem for consumer-band powerline communications.  The Power Line Modem PICtail-Plus Daughter Board Development Kit implements a Binary Phase Shift Keying modem on the dsPIC33F controller, and integrates all modem functions on a daughter card.

The daughter card interfaces directly with Microchip’s popular Explorer 16 development board.  The kit is supported by royalty-free schematics, demo code, and source-code software, all of which are available at http://www.microchip.com/get/FTWN.

The full kit is priced at $225.00, which includes two daughter cards and two sets of high-voltage adapter cables.
